Watch three angles on three screens from one mount

Most multi-lens iCSee cameras show two pictures. This dome shows three. Each of its three 3.6mm lenses feeds its own live screen in the app, and the whole body turns a full 360° with a tilt from -10° to 180°.

Three views from one mounting point suit places where several things need watching but running cable to several cameras would be a chore:

  • A corner of a yard covering the gate, the lawn and the back door.
  • A pole in a car park or farmyard looking in three directions.
  • A shop or workshop with a till, a door and a storeroom within a short distance.
  • A driveway junction where a path, a garage and a street meet.

Each lens has a 90° angle of view. The maker does not say how the three are arranged on the body, so check the product photos to see which lenses move with the head and which stay fixed before planning the views.

Human detection triggers real-time alerts to the phone and a local alarm on the camera. A microphone and speaker in the body carry two-way audio, so you can speak to a visitor from live view in iCSee.

Three feeds on a phone screen. Three pictures share one phone display, so each is small. Turn the phone sideways, or tap a view to enlarge it, when you need to see detail.

Recording uses H.265, which keeps three simultaneous streams manageable on storage. The maker lists 256GB of internal storage in addition to a microSD slot for up to 128GB and optional paid cloud.

That is a lot of recording space for a camera at this resolution, and it means a long history before anything is overwritten, particularly with detection-only recording switched on.

Weigh 1MP per lens against three views at once

The resolution here is 1MP per lens, well below the 3MP to 4MP per lens of most dual-lens iCSee cameras. That figure shapes what the camera can and cannot do, and it deserves a clear look before ordering.

A 1MP picture sits around the 720p class. On a phone, it shows who walked through the gate, what colour their coat was, and which way they went. Number plates across the road and faces at the bottom of a long garden are beyond it.

What 1MP per lens handles well:

  • Movement and activity across a yard or lot.
  • People passing within a few metres of the lens.
  • Overview footage that shows the sequence of events.
  • Streaming three views at once without heavy load on the Wi-Fi.

What calls for a higher-resolution camera:

  • Identifying faces beyond a short distance.
  • Reading plates or parcel labels.
  • Zooming into recordings after the event.

The trade-off is breadth for detail. Three modest views cover more ground from one mount than two sharper ones, and for many farmyards, sheds and lots, knowing that something happened and when matters more than a portrait.

Put a sharper camera at the door. A common plan pairs this camera for the wide overview with a higher-resolution camera where people must pass close, such as the front door or the gate latch.

Night performance is strong for the class. The sensor works down to 0.01 lux in colour, and infrared reaches up to 50m with automatic day-night switching.

The resolution guide sets out how per-lens figures compare across the range.

Connect by Wi-Fi or RJ45 and fix it to a pole

Two ways in: 2.4GHz Wi-Fi or an RJ45 network cable. Having the cable option is useful on a camera streaming three views, because a wired link carries them with no dependence on the signal at the mounting spot.

Set it up on Wi-Fi or cable, then mount it:

  1. Power it from its DC 12V supply near the router.
  2. For a wired setup, plug the RJ45 lead into the router or a switch; for Wi-Fi, have your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi details ready.
  3. Add the camera in iCSee by QR code or by nearby search on the same network.
  4. Check all three screens and set human detection.
  5. Add a microSD card for a removable copy and format it from the app.
  6. Mount it and adjust the views from the phone.

The body measures 115 × 106 × 156mm and takes more mounting styles than most cameras here:

  • Wall or side mount on a building.
  • Upright on a flat surface.
  • Pendant from a ceiling or overhang.
  • Pole mount in open ground.

It draws up to 24W, so run a proper outdoor-rated supply to it and seal every joint. The IP66 rating covers the housing against rain and dust, not the cable connectors.

The reset button sits at the card slot, handy for a factory reset without dismounting. The reset guide covers the timing and what happens after.

This version comes with a US plug and no memory card.

Choose three screens at 1MP or a sharper triple

Among iCSee cameras with three lenses, this one puts views ahead of pixels. The other triples carry far more detail in each picture, and two of them add optical zoom.

GESKS 4K triple38MP 4K totalNot stated
Anssipo 3-lens33MP (2K) wideNo
6MP 3-lens optical36MP totalWired option

Pick this camera when the job is broad overview from a pole or corner, the subjects pass close, and a cable backup matters. Its 256GB internal storage and 50m infrared add depth to that role.

Pick another when detail is the priority. GESKS rates its triple at 4K 8MP in total. The Anssipo pairs a 3MP wide view with 4.3x optical zoom for a far gate. The 6MP 3-lens model has a 4x optical zoom lens.

Cost of ownership is similar across the four: each needs mains power, a 2.4GHz network or a cable, and a card or cloud plan. The difference shows in the footage. Recordings from this camera answer the questions of when and where; recordings from the sharper triples also go some way to answering who.

If the camera will sit on a pole in open ground, this model's mounting options and wired port make it the easiest of the four to install there. If it will sit above a front door, where faces come within a few feet, any of the others will give a more useful picture of the person at the step.

Before ordering, check:

  • that 1MP per lens meets what you need to see;
  • a 12V outlet within reach, or a route for its supply;
  • a cable path for RJ45 if the Wi-Fi at the spot is weak;
  • the mount type you will use: wall, pendant or pole.

Setup and storage questions

How sharp is each of the three views?

1MP per lens. It shows activity and people close by, but not faces or plates at a distance.

Can it use a network cable instead of Wi-Fi?

Yes. Alongside 2.4GHz Wi-Fi there is an RJ45 socket for a wired link.

Where is the reset button?

At the memory card slot, so it can be reached without removing the camera from its mount.

Does it have storage built in?

The maker lists 256GB of internal storage, plus a microSD slot for up to 128GB and optional paid cloud.

Can it go on a pole?

Yes. It supports pole mounting, along with wall, side, upright and pendant mounts.
