Reach the end of the drive with the GESKS 9MP's 8x zoom

The GESKS 9MP is built for distance. It records 4K at 9MP, puts three lenses on a pan-tilt head and adds 8x zoom, so a car at the end of the drive or a figure at the far gate fills more of the frame than on a standard pan-tilt dome.

GESKS describes the camera as three cameras in one, with the three lenses shown as two screens in the iCSee app. One view can hold the entrance while another watches the drive, which saves mounting two cameras where a single wall position covers both.

  • 9MP, 4K recording at 30 frames a second.
  • 8x zoom, which GESKS describes as optical, for close-ups at distance.
  • Auto tracking that follows a person across the scene.
  • An 85° viewing angle, as GESKS quotes it.

Read the 9MP figure as the camera's total. GESKS does not break it down lens by lens, and on multi-lens iCSee cameras the headline number is usually shared between the lenses. Each screen therefore carries fewer pixels than a single-lens 9MP camera would, and the resolution guide explains the per-lens arithmetic.

Check the zoom on your own drive. GESKS quotes 8x and calls it optical but publishes no focal range. Before counting on a plate read, zoom in on a parked car at the distance you care about, once by day and once after dark.

The head sits in a black plastic housing of 4.7 × 5.2 × 8.7 inches, a little taller than a standard pan-tilt dome because of the extra lens. Under a dark soffit it reads as one more fitting; on a pale wall it is clearly a camera, which on a siren model is no bad thing.

Sound the siren warning light at the side gate

Recording a visitor is half the job; persuading them to leave is the other half. The GESKS 9MP carries a siren and a flashing warning light that fire when motion is detected, plus a speaker loud enough to talk through.

  • Siren and light: the camera flashes and sounds when it detects movement, while iCSee sends the alert to your phone.
  • 30dB speaker: GESKS says a visitor can hear you clearly from 10 feet away, enough for a courier at the door or a stranger at the gate.
  • Warning sticker: included in the box, to post notice that the property is recorded.

A siren is a blunt tool, so set it up with care. Keep the detection zone on your own ground, away from the pavement and the neighbour's drive, and check during the first week how often it fires. A siren that goes off for every passing dog soon gets switched off, and then it protects nothing.

Night vision pairs infrared LEDs with white lights and reaches up to 65ft. With the white lights in play, the camera records in colour and shows a visitor they are lit and seen; on infrared it records quietly in black and white.

Multi-user sharing sends the same alerts to everyone in the household, each on their own login. The iCSee app guide covers sharing and alert settings step by step.

Think about who hears the siren besides the intruder. A camera facing a terraced street or a shared courtyard may be better on light only, with the siren saved for a rear gate that nobody should be using after dark.

Wire the GESKS 9MP to an NVR over Ethernet

A 4K, three-lens camera sends a heavy stream, and GESKS gives it both 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and an Ethernet port. On a wall far from the router, the cable is the steadier choice and the one that keeps both screens moving.

  1. Pair the camera in iCSee next to the router and update its firmware; the setup guide covers QR and wired pairing.
  2. Fit the waterproof connector from the box over the network joint before mounting.
  3. Mount it under an eave, 8 to 10 feet up, with the cable entering from below.
  4. Insert a microSD card of up to 128GB, since none comes with the camera.
  5. Set the detection zone and the siren, then review one night's footage.

ONVIF support lets it record to an NVR or DVR alongside the card. GESKS pitches it as an upgrade for older systems, so an existing ONVIF recorder can take it in place of an older camera, provided the recorder accepts 4K streams. Stream details are on the RTSP and ONVIF page.

Power comes from a 12V US adapter in the box, so the mount needs an outlet within reach or a low-voltage lead run through the wall. Alexa support adds voice control once the camera sits on your account.

Reserve an address for it on the router once it is wired, so the recorder finds it in the same place after every power cut.

A three-lens 4K stream fills a card faster than a single 1080p camera. Continuous recording on a 128GB card covers fewer days than on a smaller camera, so event recording, a recorder copy or cloud storage is worth planning from the start; the SD card guide has the sizing detail.

Choose the GESKS 9MP or a 3-lens optical zoom rival

Several multi-lens iCSee cameras chase the same job, a wide view plus a close look at something far away. They differ in how they zoom, how clearly the maker states it, and what else sits in the housing.

The GESKS 9MP fits when:

  • The drive or yard is long and you want zoom and a siren on one camera.
  • A network cable can reach the wall.
  • You already record to an ONVIF system.
  • You want the siren and the zoom from the same wall position, not two cameras.

If you want the optical figure spelled out, the 6MP 3-lens PTZ quotes 4x optical and the Anssipo quotes 4.3x optical inside its 8x hybrid. The PTZ zoom guide explains why optical zoom keeps detail that digital zoom only enlarges.

For a shorter yard, the zoom goes unused and a simpler dual-lens camera does the job with less stream to store. The GESKS 9MP earns its place where the far end of the property matters as much as the doorstep.

Plan the mount height with the zoom in mind. Too high, and the zoomed view looks down on roofs and hat brims; at 8 to 10 feet, with the head angled slightly down the drive, faces and plates meet the lens at a shallower angle.

Setup and storage questions

How many lenses does the GESKS 9MP have?

Three, shown as two screens in the iCSee app, on a pan-tilt head.

Is the GESKS 9MP zoom optical?

GESKS describes the 8x zoom as optical but publishes no focal range, so test it at the distance you need.

Does the GESKS 9MP have a siren?

Yes. A siren and flashing warning light fire on motion, and the 30dB speaker handles two-way talk.

Can the GESKS 9MP use a network cable?

Yes. It has 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and an Ethernet port; power comes from the included 12V adapter.

Is a microSD card included?

No. It takes cards up to 128GB, and cloud recording is optional.
